Sarees are sometimes used for making other items, such as, pillows, bedding, table clothes, wall hangings, purses, other clothing and more. Extra blouse fabric can be used for anything you desire. (Deity outfits etc.)
It is recommended for most sarees to hand wash, separately in cold, wring out, shake out wrinkles and hang dry immediately. Machine wash cold, delicate, separately (Do not wash with anything else unless like colors) Spin out all water and hang dry immediately. It is recommended to dry clean pure silk sarees the first time and after that you can wash as recommended above. Pure silk sarees do not have to be washed every time you wear them, as they are considered pure. They can be hung in the sun inside out to air out and spot cleaned as needed.
